         Technical assistance to support the reform of the National Registry of Persons (RNP).

         Support to the electoral reform is deemed one of the priorities for the EU interventions in Honduras in the MIP priority area of rule of law and democratic governance. Thanks to positive contributions of the ongoing technical assistance contract to diffuse a potential crisis in the run up to and immediate aftermath of the 2021 elections, continued institutional strengthening of the Honduran Civil Registry (RNP) as a key institution of electoral reform was considered essential.

         Given the large scale needs in the implementation of the RNP´s Strategic Institutional Plan for the period 2020-2024, it was decided to ensure additional resources for technical assistance.
