Tenders are hereby invited for the following: Appointment of a Futurist to assist the project manager and SANParks to facilitate the development of a vision 2040. The duration of this contract will be for a period nine (09) months with an estimated four (04) days a week. Scope: The key outputs will be: - The Futurist is to assist Project Manager to develop an approach for all consultation sessions that will stimulate futuristic thinking; - Facilitate/ co- facilitate consultative 4 stakeholder engagement workshops (30 to 50 people) across the country, to break the thinking patterns and trigger innovative thinking for the long-term future of the organization/conservation; - Facilitate/ co- facilitate consultative 4 smaller (approximately 10 people) in focus group stakeholder engagement workshops across the country, to break the thinking patterns and trigger innovative thinking for the long-term future of the organization/conservation; - Facilitate/ co- facilitate consultative 4 virtual engagement discussions, to break the thinking patterns and trigger innovative thinking for the long-term future of the organization/conservation; - During the above mentioned workshops the Futurist will be required to: • Assist the stakeholders (internal and external) to understand the forces that will shape the future of conservation up until 2040 and how to respond to confidentially stay ahead of change; • Assist the stakeholders to embrace an opportunity mindset in developing Vision 2040; • Assist the stakeholders to expand their strategic imagination and future focused mindset, learning to think like a futurist; • Obtain diverse views from the consultation for the development of scenarios for the Vision 2040 Strategy; • Assist the stakeholders to identify the most disruptive forces shaping the world up to 2040; • Co-facilitate the Visioning working sessions with the Project Manager and internal task team; • Produce a number of scenarios; • Review and advise on the formulation of the Vision 2040 and key outputs.
