        Määrittely- ja suunnittelupalvelut ovat tietojärjestelmien teknisen ja toiminnallisen määrittelyn ja suunnittelun tehtäviin liittyvää asiantuntijatyötä ICT-kehitysprojekteissa. Asiakkaan määrittely- ja suunnittelupalveluiden työtehtäviin kuuluvat kliinisen laboratoriotoiminnan tietojärjestelmien, sekä muiden teknisten ratkaisujen ja arkkitehtuurien kokonaismäärittelyt, sekä arkkitehtuurisuunnittelu. Osa-alueen palveluihin kuuluu mm. nykytilan kartoitus, esiselvitys, toiminnallinen määritys sekä arkkitehtuuritasoinen määrittely. Hankittava asiantuntijapalvelu voi olla projektiluonteista tai jatkuvaa palvelua.
