Re-advertisement: Bids are hereby invited for the following: Provision of short-term corporate insurance broking services for the period of five years. Scope: - Approach the market on receipt of this tender document to obtain competitive prices/quotations and related options, from various insurers in order to offer risk sharing insurance broking services for UUW Insurance portfolio; - Annually approach the market to obtain competitive prices/quotations and related options, from various Insurers in order to offer risk sharing insurance broking services; - Determine the appropriate risk retention/risk sharing structure for UUW by calculating risk retention values for high, medium and low risk levels. Undertake statistical analysis using a risk retention analysis/stress test, to establish optimal risk financing and to ensure that proposed self-insurance levels will not seriously impact on the organization’s financial position; - Review and/formulate insurance policies/wordings (including any exclusions) and advise on the implications for UUW in context of the nature and or changes in the business; - Advise UUW, besides putting in place the appropriate insurance cover, on the appropriate indemnity limits, excesses, premiums etc.; - Recommend the appointment of secure and reputable Insurers to UUW and monitor their solvency ratios and credit ratings; - Advise UUW when insolvency ratios drop below the acceptable regulated level or there is a change in credit rating that could affect the ability to pay out claims; - The broker will be responsible for recommending the appointment of secure and reputable salvage companies and recovery attorneys as well as compliant assessors on the central supplier database; - Provide insurance policies in both hard (two) and soft copies within two months of placing insurance policies on an annual basis; - Annually review and recommend options, following analysis, for insured & uninsured risks carried by the portfolio and recommended the appropriate action required; - Negotiate long-term rates in view of current market conditions and discounts based on long-term rates; - Ensure UUW is kept abreast of new developments in the Insurance Industry and markets globally and locally; - Communicate insurance emerging risks applicable to UUW operating environment on a quarterly basis; - Present the proposed annual renewal terms, including presentation of any specialized policies to the Chief Executive Office team, Executive, Sub-committees of the Board and the Board of UUW upon request; - Attend all other meetings as identified by UUW including but not limited to insurance renewal meetings, monthly claims meetings, Capex Project meetings, EXCO, Audit, - Risk and Finance Committee, Board, and post-renewal presentations to staff in all regions (roadshows); - Provide training and advise to new and existing UUW insurance portfolio staff (skills transfer); - Undertake review of insurance related submissions or provide input to submissions as and when required.
