Bids are hereby invited for the following: Hiring of a 20-ton crawler long reach excavator to Standerton water treatment works near Standerton in the Mpumalanga Province. Specifications: • Supplier to provide an operator for the excavator; • Accommodation, transport and meals must be included in the rate for excavator; • Machine will be hired on a dry rate, diesel will be filled by the depart on site; • Machine to be free of leaks or spillage, any if the machine found leaking will be removed from site at suppliers" expense; • Machine to be greased and lubricated by the supplier; • Machine will be used in road construction; • Servicing of the machine to be done in a safe manner to avoid spillages; • Working hours should be recorded end of each day by the operator and departmental site foreman; • Working hours per day is estimated to be 8 hours, working 5 days a week; • The department is not working on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays; • Machine will only be paid for hours worked and recorded on the logbook.
