Information is hereby requested to assess available products and solution offerings available in the market to possibly support the City of Cape Town’s business. Purpose • The City of Cape Town has embarked on a process to acquire towing vehicles to replace its existing towing vehicle fleet as well as procure new towing vehicle types that will assist in the swift removal of illegally parked and abandoned passenger vehicles (including minibus vehicles). The aim is to procure vehicles that is fit for purpose in term of speed, easy to operate and capacity; • The towing vehicles will be procured by various departments in the city to assist with their vehicle towing/removal needs although the main user of a future tender will be the Safety and Security Directorate; • This is a Request for Information (RFI) that relates to the current product and solution offering available in the market. Although this Request for Information (RFI) is an open invitation to the vehicle supplier and body building or vehicle manufacturing Industry players, the City of Cape Town encourages the OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to respond directly. Timeline: The expected timeline for the implementation of the acquiring and or replacement of towing vehicles within the City of Cape Town will take place over a number of years as and when the need arises.
