The Knysna Municipality has recently added a significant number of CCTV cameras to its existing camera network. With these additions to the network further strain was placed unto the existing infrastructure. The following sites has CCTV camera recording equipment: N2 Nekkies Intersection; N2 Hornlee Intersection (Lamco); Municipal Workshop (Fechter Street Knysna industrial Area); Knysna CBD Taxi Rank (Nelson Street); Base Station-Knysna Fire Dept. (Waterfront, Drive). The above sites have been linked via wireless equipment and programmed to the Municipal High site at Brenton to enable the viewing and transmission of live video footage that are operated from the Fire Station located at Waterfront Drive, Knysna CBD.
