QUB/1692/17 Contract for the Supply, Installation, Commissioning, Implementation and Support of A Physical Security Information System
The proposed PSIM system will integrate these systems onto a single platform using the Queen’s IT network, allowing the alarms to be monitored and CCTV to be viewed from the security control room. Alarm activations should be prioritised and have an associated work flow to guide the operator through the correct response to each individual alarm. The proposed system must be capable of utilising video analytics to inform security control room operators of incidents that are of interest and may require a security response.
QUB, Belfast
Queen’s is a city based campus comprised of almost 300 buildings. The current security system is comprised of a wide range of CCTV (approx. 700) cameras of a variety of types, both analogue and digital, it also includes a range of:
— intruder alarms,
— panic alarms,
— fire alarms,
— building management (TREND system) alarms and the access control system (Hirsch, Identive).
The alarms are monitored 24/7 from the security control room that is based in the administration building. The security control room is manned 24/7 by 2 operators, who monitor and coordinate the response to all alarm activations. The proposed PSIM system will integrate systems onto a single platform using the Queen’s IT network, allowing the alarms to be monitored and CCTV to be viewed from the security control room. Alarm activations should be prioritised and have an associated work flow to guide the operator through the correct response to each individual alarm. The proposed system must be capable of utilising video analytics to inform Security control room operators of incidents that are of interest and may require a security response.
